About Maplewood Girls Lacrosse Club (MGLC)

The Maplewood Girls Lacrosse Club has been introducing the game of lacrosse to girls in Maplewood and South Orange for almost 20 years.  The MGLC is a member of the New Jersey Junior Girls Lacrosse League, whose goal is to instill a love of the game of lacrosse through a solid foundation of skills, positive coaching and competitive games for girls throughout New Jersey.

The mission of our program is to:

  • introduce the fundamentals of lacrosse to girls in grades 3-8
  • build on these fundamentals through competitive team play
The Club is comprised of three teams. The third and fourth grade team practices twice a week and has approximately
8-10 games over the season. The fifth and sixth grade team and the seventh and eighth grade teams also practice twice a week.  These teams have approximately 12 games over the season against surrounding towns.  Teams are coached by volunteer parents.  All coaches have attended NJJGLL sponsored clinics.

Registration for the spring season occurs in November.  The season begins with practices in mid- to late March (weather permitting) and ends in early June.

The MGLC is a non profit organization.
